Nate took Theo to the doctor today on account of his bowel troubles.
When the doc walked in, she saw diaper-clad Theo perched on dada’s lap sipping on a bottle of milk. She takes one look at the bottle and asks how many of those he has a day.
“About four,” Nate says.
“That’s way too much,” she says. “Twice a day, that’s it. The rest should be juice and water.”
Nate calls me with the news and my extreme relief is quickly followed by extreme guilt. I
did this. I made my baby sick. Does everyone know that one-year-olds only drink 16 oz. of milk a day? Why didn’t I buy that dang What to Expect: The Toddler Years?
Oh, and it turns out, 99.9% of toddlers don’t eat baby food anymore. Really? Is it bad that Theo still likes it? And, yes, I know he should be using that sippy cup a whole lot more!
Worst. Mother. Ever.
Can you hear that? It’s me cracking.
