Today, Theo and I took the train to the city to meet auntie Amy and Nate who brunched earlier in the day. We endured a brief bout of crying on the subway and a crazy man in the Canal St. elevator who demanded to know if I was American. We bumped along cobble stone streets and glared right back at grouchy shoppers who gave me the stroller stink-eye. We visited Urban Outfitters and CB2 and drank delicious beer with my favorite sister-in-law.
Good times. Very good times.
I’m sort of embarrassed that I still get a thrill and a sense of “Yes! We did it!” when the family ventures out of our comfort zone. I should do it more often. How about I make it my pre-New Years resolution. That and getting a regularly-scheduled weekend baby-sitter. Mama needs a date! Bad.
