SATURDAY OCTOBER 21 2006
is in town, shopping occurs. You simply cannot avoid it. Sprinkled between boutiques and flea markets was the occasional kid store. People are good about humoring me and my decorating-the-nursery fixation. Nate, however, was not in a humoring mood.
I see a giraffe wall decal that I think is pretty cute. I ask Nate what he thinks. In all seriousness he utters this:
The kid should be allowed to pick what it wants on the wall. What if it likes hippopotamuses, not giraffes? We shouldn’t force it on ’em.
Mind you, earlier in the day, Nate bought this cute little piggy for the baby. For the piggy bank collection, he says. Maybe the bambino wants to collect bill folds. Ever think of that?
Soon after Nate left the ladies to enjoy his afternoon nap.
